The answer depends on the façade material and the condition of the coating. Hard, well-sealed surfaces (for example, brick or concrete façades with a good coating) usually withstand moderate pressure, while rendered façades with a weak or cracked coating can be damaged.
That's why, before cleaning the whole façade, it's always advisable to test a small, inconspicuous spot and start at the lowest possible pressure.
Use the lowest pressure that gives an acceptable result, keep more distance from the surface, and avoid a sustained jet on one spot. When in doubt, it's better to clean only specific, visibly problematic spots rather than the whole façade at once.
If instead of a façade you need to clean a terrace or pavement, those surfaces are much more durable and can handle higher pressure.
